Designer or Author...

Updated: Feb 26, 2020

Most people have a story to tell however the hardest part is getting around to telling it. I believe that everyone has at least one book in them but that's not to say it's easy to write one. I first attempted to write a book in 2012 and got about 70% through before life got in the way and it took a back seat to which I never returned.

Eight years later and it's time to give it another go and this time I'm determined to finish it! I've decided to give myself the best possible chance by picking a subject that I know a little bit about - office design. I figured it would make sense to share the knowledge and experience that I have acquired over the last eighteen years to create a step-by-step guide sharing the primary principles of planning and designing an office. Written for the novice enthusiast, I intend this book to arm readers with the knowledge and confidence to bring their own design ideas to life in a professional, practical and creative way.

This has only been made possible since starting my own business which has given me the freedom and flexibility to balance my time between my clients, my family and my 'other' interests. I think the older we get the more we realise that there are so many more things we can explore but finding the time when you are tied to a 9-5 job makes it pretty challenging. So, alongside my day job and writing this book I will also be pursuing a number of other interests, most of which are associated with design so i'm sure i'll be blogging about them as they take flight!
